The LEGO® Hogwarts Castle is no ordinary set, and it deserves an extraordinary light and sound kit.  We worked for more than six months to develop a new kind of lighting kit: one that lets you experience this wonderful LEGO® set just like you want to.  Say goodbye to the "too bright" unrealistic lights found in many other light kits, because you set the brightness of the lights.  You set the colors of the spotlights and the speed of the effects.  You add the sounds you want to hear, and you set the volume.  And to control it all, you use one simple remote that works through walls from up to 50 feet (15.2m) away.

Lights that tell a story

Because there should be a lot more to a lighting kit than "on" and "off," we packed this kit with more than 15 different lighting effects specifically designed for the room or area they are placed in.  There's always something fascinating to watch.

Play Features Preserved

Who needs bulky wires?  We worked hard to pack a ton of lights into the castle, but we worked just as hard to hide the wires so your microfigs can still run around like they own the place.

Easily control everything from a simple 4-button remote.  It uses radio frequency to transmit its signals, and each remote is paired with its castle so you won't get any interference from other remotes.

Chamber of secrets

White lights dim at random intervals, and a menacing green lightshow starts.  After the danger passes, the white lights come back up.  The cycle repeats on a random delay and runs with a random length.  Having trouble viewing the video?  Click here.

Chessboard Chamber

Two lights in the ceiling of the chessboard room mark the passing of turns from the white side to the black.  Each "turn" lasts for a random interval of time.  Having trouble viewing the video?  Click here.

Chamber of winged keys

​Animating the Exterior

A New Central Brain

In order to manage all of the effects throughout the castle, to listen for the remote control, and to trigger sound playback, we had to go back to the drawing board and develop a completely new Central Effect Controller.  This controller has more power, more storage capacity, and more connections than any single board we've made in the past.  It's the reason we're able to offer this truly innovative kit.

This is where you set your preferences: the maximum brightness for the various lighting groups, effect-dependent settings like flicker intensity, and volume for sound playback.  Once you've got your Hogwarts set up just the way you want it, the Controller saves your preferences in memory.
